The sibling-ship test is designed to determine whether two individuals share one or both biological parents. This type of DNA testing provides a statistical probability of biological sibling-ship and is commonly used when direct parental testing is not available or when additional clarification is needed regarding family relationships.

In a full-versus half-siblings comparison, the DNA of two individuals who share the same biological mother is analyzed to help determine whether they are likely to share the same alleged father. For the most accurate and conclusive results, we strongly recommend including the biological mother’s DNA sample, as this helps the laboratory distinguish which genetic markers were inherited from the mother and which were contributed by the father. Including the mother’s sample significantly improves the strength and reliability of the results.

In cases where individuals have different biological mothers, testing can still be performed to determined whether they share the same biological father. In these situations, we also recommend collecting DNA samples from both biological mothers whenever possible to increase accuracy and support more conclusive findings. If undisputed siblings are available, their buccal (cheek) swab samples may also be included to further support the analysis.

Cancellation Policy

All appointment cancellation are non-refundable. Appointments may be rescheduled if the request is made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. Reschedule requests made less than 24 hours before the appointment will be subject to a $50.00 rescheduling fee. Clients who fail to appear for their appointment without notice (“no call, no show”) will be required to pay for a new test appointment.
